Takara was established in 1931 by founding president Hidenobu Yoshikawa.
In 1950 the first manual hydraulic adjustable barber chairs were developed.
In 1956 the Takara company in New York City was established following up in 1959 in London.
In 1962 the “model 808″ the worlds first electric barber chair is launched and becomes a big hit instantly.
Soon a Toronto and Paris Takara divisions are created and in 1969 Takara’s Japanese brand name was joined with international brand name Belmont to officially form Takara Belmont co ltd.
Their beautiful craftsmanship made barber chairs remain some of the most unique, sought-after classics.
